The
CIBC Run for the
Cure was on Sunday, September 30, 2007. My dad, DH and I all
participated in it, though DH wasn't
offcially signed up - we raised money together for it and he was as much involved as I was.

We were walking in memory of our family friend, Pat, who passed away two weeks after last year's run after a long fight with breast cancer.

It was a gorgeous fall day -
crisp first thing, but sunny all the way. This year we did the 5 km walk instead of 1 km and it took us just over an hour according to the tie clock, though it took probably 15 minutes for us to get
past the START line.

Some people decorated their yards and encouraged along the route of the Run.

We three at the end. It is amazing that this is the first photo in a long time that I have looked at and thought that I look like my dad. I don't mind looking like either of my parents as I think they
both are good looking people, but I haven't seen so many similarities between my dad and I in a while.
We are definitely planning on doing the Run again next year and I would love to have each and every one of you join me - be it here with me or in your respective city. If I get 10 people or over here we will have a team - which basically means we get shirts with the name of our team on the back and we will walk together (or those of you who like to run can run) and encourage one
another. It will be a lot of fun! And in case you would still like to donate to the
CIBC Run for the Cure and sponsor me, you still have the opportunity until the end of October
here.
Don't forget to go
The Breast Cancer Site and click to help give free mammograms to women who need them!

That's awesome Rayna! It's a disease that affects SO many women, I know I have it strong on both sides of my family. Let's hope they find a cure!
