Sunshine and Snowflakes

Oh, I almost forgot that I got a CD in the mail yesterday that I ordered on Tuesday from http://www.sweet-music.com/. It is a Christmas CD of kids singing called "Sunshine and Snowflakes". We had it when I was a kid and actually did it as a Christmas production when I was in grade 5 or 6 (do you remember which one, K?) I played it right away last night and knew all the words and everything. It was written/produced in 1973 and the cool thing is that it sounds "new" still. I am so happy with it! I love being able to share music I loved as a child with R. Apparently my dad found some old records of our when we were kids and our friend R works with a guy who can transfer them over to CDs, so I am going to get more of them done. Cannot wait! I'm going to bring my Sunshine and Snowflakes over to C's tomorrow so we can listen while we Christmas bake! (I'm pretty excited about Christmas baking, can you tell!?! :)

Rayna, "Sunshine and Snowflakes" was my absolute favorite Christmas music growing up! I have it on mp3 that I found on the internet because I thought it was not being produced anymore. Wow, I listened to that on a record, played on a real live record player! Now, I'm dating myself. Hmmm . . . I will definitely be getting my hands on that CD, thanks for the tip,
Mark

I don't actually remember that. Can you tell me a little more about it to jog my memory. The only musical I remember is one we did in grade 5 and I was dressed as a girl from Holland. Was that Sir Oliver song or something like that?

Mark - you are not dating yourself at all, mine was a record too. In fact my dad found our old record copy this week after I asked him about it.
Kim - maybe it was fourth grade - did you move to Caronport in 5th? Yes - I totally remember Sir Oliver's Song! Oh, I need to get that one on CD too - maybe that is one of the records that Dad found the other day. And Music Machine and another Christmas one that my friend Rob mentioned the other day that I can't remember the album title, only bits of songs from it.
Memories... so much fun!

I know that the Music Machine is still being produced on CD. I made sure I picked it up last Christmas when the Lighthouse was selling it...oh the good times of record players (I had one in my house as I grew up...it was great fun.)

I know we weren't originally talking about Music Machine here, but if anyone would like to order it here's the site... http://www.agapelandmusic.com/agapeland_music_machine_cd_dvd.html
My Mom got all three for my kids and they just love them! Have it all memorized!
I never had Sunshine and Snowflakes, I was more of a Dolly Parton & Kenny Rogers Christmas fan, sorry.

oh man, the whole site didn't show up...well just go to the home site and that should get you there!

I loved the Music Machine, thanks for that memory :) I went to the web site you listed and I found another one that I liked called Papa John's Garden and of course Evie-Come on ring those bells. We put up our Christmas tree to that record as long as I can remember, so I can't wait to get that one.
Did you ever listen to "Psalty the singing song book?" I loved those ones too.

Jobina - Dolly Parton and Kelly Rogers!?! Really? You're not subjecting your children to that are you? Just kidding... I think their Christmas album was one of the better country albums made the the 70s (or was it early 80s?)
Kim - Oh, I loved Psalty the Singing Songbook! Michael actually heard the man who was Psalty - Ernie Rettino - sing at Saddleback Community Church 10 years ago when he was at a conference there when he first started out at Grand Valley. The Rettinos attend church there and apparently did a special number one night. Michael had never heard Psalty himself, but remembered me mentioning it a few times, so made note to tell me.
I am thinking I am going to see about getting the old records my dad has copied over to CDs before I order anymore online. I am extremely happy with my "Sunshine and Snowflakes" CD though - Rhys already sings with the last song "Happy Birthday, Baby Jesus." "Jesh" - his version of Jesus, and "To You!" at the end of all those lines. So sweet! I love passing along my memories to him and seeing him enjoying them too.

Rayna, I think that "subjecting to" is fair!

I just realised that I put Kelly Rogers instead of Kenny Rogers. Oops! I may not be a country fan, but not even I am that dense. :)

Subjecting to!!! Come on you guys, this is DOLLY!!! And Kenny!!! It doesn't get any better! There's no way my house would get decorated properly for Christmas without that CD, it's got some pep to it!

Yeah, my whole family LOVED that album. Drove my dad crazy I guess, but the rest of us loved it. I tried to go to the link you mentioned, sweetmusic.com and it appears dead. For those of you who found it as a (legal?) mp3, where?!??

Oops - sorry about that - the link is actually www.sweet-music.com. I changed it in the post as well, but wanted to comment here to so that you would know.
Just curious too - who am I talking to?
