I learnt this technique when I was in junior high from my friend Kim. She informed me of it at a sleepover I think and I have been using it every since. I was reminded of this whole thing in the middle of the night last night when I was up. You will know you why in a minute.
Recipe for Cocoon making
1 or more blankets
1 person in need of some warmth
Roll one way far enough to tuck blanket under your side, then the other and then lift up your feet so the blanket tucks underneath them. You should now feel like you are in a cocoon (or a piggie in a blanket! :)
Note: This does not work well when your spouse decides that he needs blanket as well, and decides to roll himself away from you, holding onto the blanket, giving enough air space for much cold air to invade your cocoon! Newton's Law also sets out that this will most likely happen when you are in the state between awake and asleep, on the cusp of total unconsciousness, thus bringing you to total consciousness in a split second.
These are the things I think in the middle of the night...

I have to say I have never tried this. I think I might have to tonight. I am not too sure how Bruce will take it though.
I can't believe you remebered that! I still do it, but now my feet have to stick out as there is another heater in the bed with me (Kevin).
Thanks for making me smile!
Rayna,
I have to tell you I tried this morning. Bruce was getting up early to go the gym and he was trying to take all the blankets off me so I wrapped up in my "Piggy in a blanket" position and he left me alone for a few more minutes of shut eye before the kids woke up.
So glad to have helped!
