Well, I decided to change my colors on the blog for Christmas. I have not decorated our house yet, so this is the most decorating for Christmas I have done as of yet. I love Christmas and usually decorate on November 25 - but this year I am afraid of what my curious son will do to everything. So far we have put the locks on the drawers and "Boomerings" on the cupboard door handles. The bathroom doors are always closed as several things have been thrown down the toilet. Yesterday it was his brush and his Little People sheep, Braaad (you need to baa like a sheep when you say it :) I am not looking forward to when he can open the sliding door to our downstairs bathroom, as we will have to start locking it to keep him out. We have had to velcro all the heating vents down as he kept pulling them up and throwing toys down them. (Do we see a theme here? :) Tonight we had to tape over all the buttons on the TV as he would turn it on and the volume WAY up. Some people think this is all not so good as when we go to other people's he will not know to not touch these things, but we were both sick of fighting with him and saying "No touch" constantly. I am hoping to put up the tree tonight, it is prelit, so I am just going to set it up with the lights, and see what he does with it. If all is OK, we will decorate it later this week. Wish me luck...
P.S. I am typing on the laptop that three weeks ago R poured coffee on. Miracles never cease!

I laughed so hard reading about Rhys' antics! What a funny kid! I'll give you an idea that I had for our tree last year...since Trinity and Tyrone were both barely over a year I was a little worried about them breaking ornaments on the tree. So, I bought some red, green and white foam and cut out 3 shapes. Red-stars, green-trees, white-snowflakes. Then I made some gingerbread cookies and a fruit loop garland. I still told them "no", but should something happen when I turn my back, it wouldn't cut them or anything. I ended up liking it so much I did our tree the same again this year! Have fun with YOURS!
That's awesome Jobina, thank you so much! Where did you get the foam and was there a pattern for the stars, trees and snowflakes, or did you just go freehand?
Hey Rayna,
Seeing as I actually have a few moments on my hand.. I thought I would leave a message. I have been reading your blog frequently but with a 2 and half year and a one month old, I just get the chance to read and not respond. It is wonderful to read and see the things that happen in your lives. Even though I just live down the street, it is kewl to "know" you this way too. Keep keeping us up to date and maybe one day..... maybe... you can show me how to start one.. when I have the free time.. so once Joel and Amy have been married off and I have finally retired... think you still be in Tuscany by then????
I just freehanded it. The foam was in a package at Walmart and I think there were 4 sheets of each colour. You can get it at craft stores too I think. Originally I was going to use felt, I just found this pack so per sheet it was cheaper.
