Working Girl

Life has been interesting as of late. DH did some contracting with an oil and gas startup. Unfortunately they have not yet gotten off the ground, so it will be a few more weeks till he actually starts with a salary and full time hours with them. We decided that I would go back to work in the evenings for the Christmas season and then keep doing a few evenings a week in the new year. This way DH can be home with R while I am working. It has always been our intention for me to be at home with R. (It was more so that we wanted to raise R ourselves, instead of his being at daycare with someone else.) I think this will be really good for DH and R to spend time together without me looking over his shoulder or able to do the things that need doing.
So I interviewed at Old Navy last night. My reasoning for applying there - I don't need to get any new clothes; I can wear jeans and T-shirts to work, as well as runners!; I love their clothes; and I can get clothes for our entire family there. Bonus that I found out about yesterday at the interview - I get a discount at Gap and Banana Republic too! So, I will find out in the next day if I got that.
I actually found out that I did get the job - when we got home tonight there was a message on the machine. Apparently I will start on Friday. I'll let you know how it goes...

Michael has been looking for a career transition for a few months now. He is supposed to be starting with an oil and gas startup, but they are so new that the investors still need to have a meeting to OK it totally. We know the COO and currently he is in Iraq, so the meeting will be after he gets back. Until then Michael's work is contract and very sporadic, though once the investors have their meeting and it is a for sure thing, Michael will be on salary. Hope that answers your question.
