Wicked Weather

Yesterday night we had INSANE weather! It was crazy! DH had put our son down and I was on the phone with Vanessa and just before I got off, it started raining HARD. Our power went out about 3 times and the thunder and lightning were going constantly and loud.
My little guy is sleeping still at 9:30 because he was up during the storm. One particularly loud thunder clap woke him and he was shaking. He then sat in my lap for almost an hour just watching what was going on.
Apparently there was a house in Tuscany that got hit and there was a fire within a few minutes that was very high. All across the city except the SW where the rest of my family lives was hit with flooding. It's taken DH over an hour and a half to get to work this morning because lights were out and just flashing with all the outages. There are certain major roads shut down as well. CRAZY!

Meh monster?

I am finding that I have no idea what to post about, so I have been not posting. This week has felt pretty blah and mundane. Lots has been happening with R, which I have been putting on his blog, but for me I am feeling "meh" (translation: blah, not caring about anything), other than about R and DH.
I think it is OK to have these times, as long as they don't become the norm. I think part of it has to do with the weather and it snowing a lot on Monday and Tuesday, just after most of the snow melted. Not that I thought spring had come - in Western Alberta in March, you got to be kidding me! :) R and I had gone for walks last week, DH came with us a few times and it was so nice to get out in the fresh air. I was thinking about it today, but R is teething a little grouchy, so he went down for a nap instead.
Well, that's my Thursday in a nutshell. Off to enter some receipts into the computer. Now that I'm caught up I don't want to get behind again! :)

What's with the weather?

OK, they always say in Calgary that if you don't like the weather, wait 5 minutes. Well, I think that today it is worse than normal. This morning we woke up to a beautiful, sunny day - the snow we got last Sunday was melting off and my neighbour dropped something off here in her T-shirt. (Granted she is 38 weeks pregnant and her thermostat is seriously turned up, but still!) I was considering walking down to the place where a few of us moms get together with the kids for Wednesday afternoons - it's only 2 blocks away - but the afternoon got a little cold and overcast, so we drove. Good thing, because it started snowing while we were there. I came out to a vehicle covered in snow and now as I look out the window it is huge snowflakes that are falling. It is not the nice snowfall that reminds you of Christmas, but rather big flakes that are coming down fast. All the snow that melted is going to be replaced by tomorrow morning if it continues at this rate. Well, it is winter, so I should expect it. I don't have to like it though!
