OK, so I have had the most comments ever on the last post (I think). Apparently we all have favorite Christmas music from our childhoods and love to reminisce about them. So, because I love music and in the interest of trying to remember more music from my childhood and where little bits of song that are floating about my head belong, please share with me your childhood favorites. Read the comments on the last post if you want to see what's all be covered and you don't have to be original - we can share favorites. Hey, I loved hearing that Mark's favorite Christmas album when he was a kid was "Sunshine and Snowflakes." It's cool when you discover you have things in common like that with someone you have known a long time or with people who are new friends.
Oh, it doesn't just have to be Christmas music - any childhood music is great.
(A big thank you to the person who can tell me what Christmas album this line came from - "What can I give to the king, Give to the one who has everything. " That's all I can remember right now, but the tune is going through my head again and again and it's all Rob's fault! Grrr! :)

I always liked my parents Christmas music, so my favorites were definitely Dolly Parton and Kenny Rogers Christmas and Boney M's Christmas Album. Those were two of the first ones I bought after we got married. Oh, and Michael W Smith's first one and Amy Grant's first one. I seem to remember a mix CD too with Whiteheart singing the little drummer boy. It was awesome!
It's funny, besides the Sunshine and Snowflakes record, the Christmas CDs that stand out from my childhood are "Christmas with the Imperials" and Amy Grant's first one too. Also Evie's Christmas album. I know what you mean about liking your parents Christmas music.
When I worked at the The Lighthouse I was able to special order "Christmas with the Imperials" - a copy for my dad for Christmas and a copy for me.
I can sing the song but I can't remember what musical it is from. We performed it at my church when I was 6 or 7 years old...I always liked the old Michael W. Smith Christmas and the oldies like Bing Crosby and Nat King Cole. I love the memories that listening to Christmas music brings back to me! I'll let you know if I think of that musical...
