Our neighbours had a baby this week and I got to go over tonight and visit for a little while - don't want to tire everyone out - and hold the precious little person. It still amazes me how much R has grown and changed over the past year, though I marvel at it every day. He is walking now - less and less crawling is happening and more and more walking. He walks sideways at times as if he is walking along furniture, and is more steady this way then when he tries to go straight forward. He is such a joy!
You forget how little and helpless they are when they are first born, how they mold into you when you hold them, how their little heads need supporting all the time. You forget their cuddliness and the little noises they make and the way they seem to have a specific wonderful new baby smell. It's divine, really.
Baby fixes... didn't realize I would still need them after I had my own. I am so glad that people I know and love have babies that I can hold and enjoy... I would have far too much trouble with the amount of kids DH and I would have to have in order to satisfy my cravings for these newborn baby qualities.

I have a few friends at Stay and Play who provide me with my weekly baby fix! Glad to hear you have an outlet for yours too! There's few things better than snuggling a baby.
